Due to the company’s phenomenal growth, eBay took on the initiative to implement better collaboration and effective communication tools for their thousands of users worldwide. eBay wanted to bring their 8,000+ collaboration sites and 50 portals closer together so users could share and benefit from their commonalities, experience, and expertise – with the overall goal of increasing employee productivity, engagement, and retention.
Although the need for enterprise social networking (ESN) proved imminent, eBay knew executive sponsorship and user adoption were the necessary first steps to begin their journey of deploying ESN on top of their SharePoint 2010 platform. After interviewing everyday users, power users, and subject-matter experts about how they wanted to use ESN tools, eBay decided to follow a phased approach and apply their “test and learn methodology” at each phase.
Join Ramin Mobasseri, Enterprise Portal Solutions Manager with eBay, and Brian Kellner, VP of Product Development and Management with NewsGator for this one-hour webinar where Ramin shares how eBay uses ESN to easily find experts, share ideas, enjoy social learning, get connected with company leaders, recognize and reward users, engage the entire workforce, and influence decisions made throughout the company.
